about

The legend of the eagle and the hawk.
The Sioux are a people of great wisdom, and this legend, related to them, teaches us that if we love someone, we must leave them free to take flight to pursue and realise any dream. This story begins a long time ago and features Toro Bravo and Nube Azzurra, two young lovers eager to spend the rest of their lives together. Fearful of losing each other and failing, they went to the tribe’s shaman to draw on his wisdom. The sorcerer gave them two arduous and tiring tasks: Nube Azzurra had to climb the mountain north of the village and take the strongest hawk in the world, while Toro Bravo was given the challenge of reaching Thunder Mountain and taking the mightiest eagle. Once the mission was accomplished, the two returned to the village shaman who asked them to tie the two birds by a leg and let them fly. Under the eyes of the young men, the eagle and the hawk began to fly, unsuccessfully, until they wounded each other. It was then that the wise old man asked the two youngsters to take a good look at that scene, and then explained that they were exactly like the eagle and the hawk, two separate and free entities who, despite their shared feelings, would only be happy, forever, if they flew together, but without chains. This is how the beautiful legend of the eagle and the hawk was born, a story that can explain to us the purest and most authentic meaning of love, the one made of freedom and not of ties to the heart, of generosity and not of traps.
