about
In Japanese culture the Crane, Tsuru, is an animal associated with loyalty and honour, as well as strength.
It is also called ‘bird of peace’ or ‘bird of happiness’. In fact, in the Far East, seeing a crane is considered auspicious. According to one legend, the crane protects the weak with its large wings and transports people to high levels of spirituality. When someone dies, it is said to carry their soul to heaven. It is not only one of the many Japanese symbols but is the animal that represents Japan.
The origami depicting the crane, Orizuru, is one of the most common and the music represents three different ways of making it.
